Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Tooling
PCD is an extremely strong cutting material. Its hardness offers excellent resistance to wear and abrasion during cutting. For geometrically defined cutting tools, PCD is the most productive and economical. It is idealyl suited for machining non-ferrous workpeices and can be subjected to the most extreme machining conditions. CBN is second only to PCD in hardness and is the cutting material of choice in high performance machining of hard ferrous materials such as: steel above HRc40, steel alloys, cast iron, inconel, stellite, etc.
Their tensile strength and hardness put great demands on the design and manufacture of PCD/CBN cutting tools. Only high precision machines, well-executed processes and expertise produce the desired results.
Our manufacturing facilities incorporate state-of-the-art CNC grinding, milling, turning and wire EDM machines. In-process monitoring and measuring equipment secure precision machining on all stations. Elaborate 3-D CAD stations ensure design excellence of the most complex tooling.
