The Solution & Technology
Mandrel RF boring tools have integrated roughing and finishing functions into one tool. This drastically reduces machine cycle time and offers a tremendous increase in our customer’s productivity. The key to this, is the patented Mandrel RF boring technology that moves the finishing insert into position when it is needed. The movement is controlled by standard CNC commands and with no extra hardware. You only need to control the timing of the through spindle coolant. The integration is done in a way that does not compromise the ideal cutting data. The two cutting functions are performed separately and the most efficient insert material and machining data can be used for the respective cutting operation.
Building a Complete Mandrel RF Tool
Standard Mandrel RF boring tools are equipped with a modular fastening system which allows you to tailor our standard tools to your exact needs. The modular system consists of three main components:
1. Master shank – CAT40 & 50, BT, DIN-B, HSK-A 40, 50, 63 & 100 (other shanks available)
2. Intermediate module – Extensions and Reducers
3. The Mandrel RF Boring Tool
