Internal Recessing Unit

The Elliott Internal Recessing Unit is the most efficient method for machining single or multiple grooves in one operation.

The Elliott recess system is comprised of: an operating head, support pilot, carry arm and interchangeable form ground recess cutter.

The IRU system offers "zero deflection", due to the unique design. The cutter is supported along it's entire length, eliminating deflection and ensuring precise feature machining with consistent repeatability.
Installing the Cutter Arm & Pilot

| 1) Hold the cutter (or the carrier arm with cutter attached) at 90°, as shown, and insert it into the operating head. | 2) Once in place, rotate the cutter 90° so that the yoke of the cutter straddles the pull pin. The Leaf Spring should be directly above the pad of the cutter. |

| 3) Align the pilot to the cutter and the drive pin. Insert the pilot until the cam surface of the cutter engages the pilot and seats against the shoulder. | |

4) Lock the pilot in place with the screw. When the adjustment stop collar is in place, this screw is tightened through a slot in the collar.
